Accessibility in the Mercantile app

  • Mercantile Bank works constantly to allow all our customers, including those with disabilities, to browse the Bank’s app easily and comfortably and enjoy advanced banking services online.
  • The Bank has performed accessibility accommodations on the app in accordance with Israeli Standard 5568 accessibility level AA and according to the guidelines in the WCAG 2.0 document by the W3C international standards association for adjustments for use on mobile devices.
  • In cases where there were no instructions in the above guidelines, accessibility adjustments were performed according to the Internet Accessibility Standard (“Criteria for Success”) according to the available tools in the operating system.

Information about app accessibility

 

  • On iOS - The app has been tested on iPhone devices with iOS version 10.3.2, as well as with the Voice Over screen reader.
  • On Android - The app has been tested on Nexus 5X devices with Android version 7. Likewise, the app has been tested with version 5.2 of the TALKBACK screen reader.
  • You can browse with swipe gestures to move focus from one element to another, or by “Explore by Touch:” touching elements with your finger to activate them.
  • When using an Android device, it is recommended to enable the setting “Automatic scrolling of lists.”
  • As far as possible, we have configured recognized elements, such as: checkboxes, lists, titles, and so on; you may navigate between these elements with the picker on your mobile device (rotor on iOS and local menu on Android devices.)
  • You may use the gestures accepted on your operating system, such as “reverse L” on Android to go back. 
  • Contact us with requests and recommendations for improvement on accessibility issues. In case you encounter issues with accessibility, please let us know so we can correct them. 

Accessibility Manager:

For your convenience, the Bank has named an “Accessibility Manager,” Mr. Meir Shaish, who is responsible for leading and coordinating the Bank’s accessibility operations and for all questions on the issue.
